WHAT ARE COLD PRESSED OILS?
Unlike refined oils, cold-pressed oils are natural and pure, which undergo heat and chemical processing, leading to cholesterol, heart issues & other health problems. The seeds are mechanically crushed at room temperature without using any chemical solvents or preservatives, as a result, they retain most of the nutrients. Therefore, they are natural, safe, and healthy to consume.
WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF COLD-PRESSED OILS?
Cold-pressed oils are good for overall health including heart and brain health. It controls diabetes as it has monounsaturated fatty acids which maintain blood sugar levels, good fats in it control cholesterol, and prevent heart attacks. It has some cancer-fighting properties& boosts immunity. Rich in nutrients and antioxidants, Vit A, C, D, E, Omega 3 and 6, Zinc, and potassium give beautiful skin, hair, and nails. For example, sesame oil fights damage by UV rays & has tyrosine which helps fight depression.
WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID REFINED OILS?
Refined oils are extracted from seeds using high heat and/or toxic chemical solvents, and may be deodorized and bleached. In the process, they lose their nutritive value. Refined oils can contain high levels of trans fats, increasing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and lowering HDL cholesterol. Trans fats can also lead to cancer, diabetes, and immune system problems. The unhealthy fats can lead to obesity and cholesterol leading to heart attacks.
